AdventureDome at Circus Circus

The Adventurdome Theme Park - The Adventurdome Theme Park opened its doors to the public on August 23, 1993. It is situated directly behind the main tower of Circus Circus Hotel Casino and was the first amusement park in Las Vegas history. Architecturally compelling, the 5-acre elevated theme park is fully enclosed in the largest space-frame dome in the US, offering climate control 365 days a year. Over 350,000 sq. ft. of pink insulated glass blocks the ultra-violet rays, allowing natural light into the park. The scene has been set in Southwest history. Designed to resemble a classic desert canyon, from top to bottom, hand-painted, artificial rock gives way to caverns, pinnacles, and steep cliffs. A stream flows gently through the stark landscape, cascading over a 90 foot fall and into a rippling pool of blue and green. Adding to the setting, eight life-sized animatronic dinosaurs loudly make their presence known among two 140 ft. peaks, a fossil wall, an archaeological dig and a replica of a Pueblo Indian cliff dwelling.
